Chamber grows together with brand new Patron

A family business which manufactures a range of premium hair growth products in South Yorkshire has been welcomed as the newest Patron member of Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber of Commerce.

Watermans, founded by husband and wife team Matt and Gail Waterman in 2014, are responsible for producing a revolutionary range of hair growth products including shampoo, conditioner, scalp elixir and vitamins. Initially operating from their home, the company has grown to become a household name in the hair and beauty industry, exporting their products across the globe and supplying to Australia, South Korea, USA, Canada and Europe to name just a few, as well as recently securing their first department store contract in Taiwan.

Drawing on her 26 years’ experience as a hair stylist and salon owner, Gail began noticing slow growth and damage to her own hair and after unsuccessfully trying existing products, she began searching for a solution. Combining ancient hair remedies with alternative therapies, the basis of the Watermans brand was born.

Since launching, Watermans has enjoyed significant growth by selling one bottle of shampoo every 30 seconds. As well as producing their full range within the UK, the company operates four warehouse units, sells products online from watermanshair.com and Amazon, supplies hair salons across the world and regularly see their products featured in Vogue, Cosmopolitan, Tatler, Men’s Fitness, Women’s Fitness, Esquire and GQ.

The company decided to become a Patron as a way of strengthening their presence within the local business community. They are one of three new Patrons who have recently joined Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber, alongside construction specialist Fortem and Public Relations consultants Cannon PR.

Matt Waterman, Founder, Watermans said:
“Our business has enjoyed a significant amount of growth over the past four years, within the UK and overseas. We are now setting our sights on the next phase of growth for the business and we felt becoming a Patron was not only a way of strengthening our links within the local business community, but also allowed us to access the range of the business support provided by the Chamber.”

Gail Waterman, Founder, Watermans said:
“As a luxury brand we wanted to join at Patron level, which will not only help us to take the next step of growing our business, but also give back to the local business community and support the incredible work the Chamber undertakes.”

Andrew Denniff, Chief Executive, Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber said:
“I am delighted that Watermans have come on board as our latest Patron. This is a home-grown, rapidly expanding business operating from the heart of our region and I am sure that we can both look forward to a long-term and beneficial relationship”.
