Sheffield City Region – Mayoral Business Hustings

From May, Sheffield City Region will have a new metro mayor with powers over transport, planning and skills. This mayor will have an important opportunity to set out and implement a strategic vision for the economy of the metro area, supporting people, firms and institutions to build a more prosperous Sheffield City Region.

As the campaign for the election gains momentum, Centre for Cities and the Sheffield City Region Chambers of Commerce are delighted to host a hustings where candidates will set out their plans to drive growth in the city region.

Covering questions relating to the economy, the event will offer guests the chance to quiz their candidates on their plans around three main topics:

  • Jobs and skills
  • Housing and transport
  • Business and enterprise

The event will take place on Friday 20 April from 8am until 9.30am at The Source Skills Academy, 300 Meadowhall Way, Sheffield S9 1EA.

Places are extremely limited and the event is open to both the press and public, so book your place now to avoid disappointment. The event will be filmed and recorded for the Centre for Cities website.
