Various organisations who have strong and robust fire safety measures in place may want to earn accreditation for their good standard of fire safety awareness within their business.
This is an additional free benefit of the project, and the criteria to achieve accreditation is outlined below.
An appropriate Fire Safety Policy has been put in place
An adequate Fire Safety Risk Assessment has been completed
An emergency evacuation and site plan is included in the Fire Safety Records
The Fire Safety Log Book is up to date with all relevant details including training carried out, at the time of assessment
A Fire Safety Ambassador has been allocated to promote fire safety principles in the workplace, is detailed in the fire safety records and evidence is provided of fire safety communications to staff
At least 5 employees have downloaded and access the Business Fire Safety app (or all staff where less than 5 employees are present in the business)
To gain approval and receive accreditation, a visit will take place to assess the above criteria. Providing the participating organisation meets each criteria point a certificate will be awarded to the participating business which is recognised by South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue.
All participating organisations must be served by South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue and fall under one of the local authorities of Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham or Sheffield.
