The forum also acts as the Manufacturing Sector Group for the Sheffield City Region Local Enterprise Partnership.
The Forum’s objective is to support and promote manufacturing businesses in the Sheffield City Region.
We aim to do this in three ways:
We provide opportunities for networking and information sharing, both through focused events on topics such as; Innovation, Skills, Export and Access to Finance, and via our website. We aim to keep manufacturers up to date with the latest news, sector initiatives and sources of business support.
The Forum acts as a positive voice for regional manufacturers, by showcasing their achievements in order to attract both customers and inward investment and by demonstrating the breadth and potential of careers and educational options in the sector. We are the voice for manufacturing, working with the Local Enterprise Partnership, being represented at relevant LEP sector groups. We continuously promote the region’s manufacturing capabilities to the wider world.
We want to ensure that the regional manufacturing community has access to opportunities to innovate within their organisations in order to support growth. We will do this by helping manufacturers identify and access potential collaborators and sources of support.
The Forum’s Steering Group consists of manufacturers from small to large companies in the region, as well as representatives from Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber, Cutlers’ Company and Made in Sheffield Chairman. It’s headed by the Master Cutler and currently chaired by Peter Hoy of Macalloy. The group meets regularly to plan Forum activities with consultation from members, seeks support from its Sponsors and also addresses matters relating to the Local Enterprise Partnership. You can find out who’s involved by visiting the Who We Are page.
