Business Awards Entry Deadline Extended

Friday, 3rd September 2010
South Yorkshire companies now have three extra weeks to join the quest for glory at the region’s top business awards ceremony.
The entry deadline for the Barnsley & Rotherham Business Awards has now been extended to Friday 24 September, allowing business additional time to prepare their submissions. The awards ceremony will be hosted by television presenter Harry Gration at Rotherham’s Magna Centre on Friday 22 October.
The competition is intensified this year by the merging of the previously separate ceremonies in Barnsley and Rotherham into one event and the awards are open to all members of Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber of Commerce, plus any other business based in Barnsley or Rotherham.
Entries are being accepted in the award categories listed below:
· New Start
· Business Growth
· Invest in Skills
· Business in Partnership with the Community
· Excellence in Manufacturing
· Innovation in Business
· Employee of the Year
· Environmental
· Health in the Workplace
· Business of the Year
The ceremony is planned and delivered by Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber of Commerce, whose Chief Executive John Lewis said: “This year’s awards ceremony will be our biggest yet, with both Barnsley and Rotherham companies – plus Chamber members from elsewhere in our region – battling for the awards on offer.
“I would encourage all companies to download an entry form from the Chamber website – www.brchamber.co.uk – and make sure they tell us all about their accomplishments by 24 September.”
The contribution of well-established companies to the business community will also be marked in the Salute to Business section of the ceremony. Businesses celebrating 25, 50, 75 or 100 years’ trading in either Barnsley or Rotherham should e-mail lwilkinson@brchamber.co.uk for more information.
Tickets for the awards ceremony are priced at £60 or £550 for a table of ten for Chamber members, £75 or £750 for a table of ten for non-members (all prices excluding VAT). Places can be booked via the Events section of the Chamber website – www.brchamber.co.uk.
