Local businesses are being urged to tell Government what they think of its recently-launched Industrial Strategy and other issues that affect them day to day – and win free flights to Paris.

The information businesses send in to the influential Sheffield City Region Quarterly Economic Survey (QES)  is fed back to regional policy makers and national government, and helps shape strategies to address issues such as skills gaps, the impact of Brexit and Theresa May’s Industrial Strategy.

The survey, sponsored by The Source, is run by the Sheffield City Region’s Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) and Chambers of Commerce to create a snapshot of how the regional economy performed over the last three months and to make a forecast for the next quarter.

Sir Nigel Knowles, chairman of Sheffield City Region, urges businesses to complete the economic survey to shape business support

Sir Nigel Knowles, chairman of Sheffield City Region LEP said: “If we know the challenges, issues and opportunities for businesses then we can work as partners to help businesses to grow and succeed. It’s important that we know what local businesses think as we work together to build a truly competitive centre of business excellence.

“This quarter’s survey includes questions about the UK Government’s proposed Industrial Strategy and the results will be of interest to Government and to the LEP in shaping regional and national business support which will boost the local economy.”

The survey is quick to complete and as an extra incentive, everyone who completes the survey will be entered into a free prize draw to win two free Flybe flights to Paris, courtesy of Doncaster Sheffield Airport.

The QES Q1 results will be released at a free QES Breakfast event on 5 May 2017 with a lively debate about the Industrial Strategy and its impact on local business and the economy.
