Business Charity Football Tournament – Making a difference together!

Rotherham United Community Trust (RUCT) and Rotherham Hospital & Community Charity (RHCC) are delighted to announce an exciting evening of football, networking and fundraising, taking place on Friday 16 May 2025 at the AESSEAL New York Stadium. 20 local businesses or groups will come together to go head-to-head for a 5-a-side tournament – all to support two fantastic local charities!

Supporting the Rotherham community ahead of Dementia Action Week
This year’s Business Cup takes place on the lead up to Dementia Action Week (19–25 May 2025) – a national campaign led by the Alzheimer’s Society to encourage awareness, support and action around dementia.

By taking part in the tournament, players, supporters, and sponsors will not only be enjoying a brilliant evening of football, but also supporting those affected by dementia in Rotherham.

All proceeds from this event will be shared equally between:

Rotherham Hospital & Community Charity – Raising funds for the Dementia Appeal, which aims to generate £250,000 to enhance care and support for patients and families affected by dementia.

Rachael Dawes, Head of Fundraising at the charity said: “We’re incredibly excited to team up with Rotherham United Community Trust for The Business Cup. It’s a brilliant opportunity for local businesses to come together, enjoy a bit of friendly competition and, most importantly, raise vital funds for two charities at the heart of our community.

“If you’ve always fancied playing football on a professional pitch, this event is for you! Entering a team and supporting this event will help us raise vital funds for patients living with dementia and their families in Rotherham.”

Rotherham United Community Trust – Supporting health programmes for older people including the dementia group and Millers Memory Club. Raising funds to support the Rotherham Dementia Voice group and the charities work in care homes across Rotherham, reducing social isolation in older people and enabling them to stay more physically active and reduce health issues.

Jonathan Allan, Community Programme Manager at Rotherham United Community Trust said, “Only 6 spaces remain for the Business Cup 2025, offering a rare opportunity to play on the pitch at New York Stadium! This isn’t just for businesses – whether you’re a grassroots team, a group of mates, or workplace warriors, everyone’s welcome. All we ask is that each player raises £50 (just £400 per team) to support our community work. It’s football, fundraising, and fun – don’t miss your shot!”
