CMI Level 3 Team Leader/Supervisor

Course Information

This course has been designed to provide access to development opportunities for a wide range of individuals. This includes individuals who are at the start of their career in leadership and management and who wish to take their first steps into professional management. It is also appropriate for those already in management roles who may already have developed practical experience but who wish to develop their theoretical understanding of management skills.

 

Course Contents

Throughout this course, Learners will study the Apprenticeship Standard which covers the below, candidates will acquire the knowledge, skills and behaviours outlined as requirements for completion of the standard:

  • Leading People
  • Managing People
  • Building Relationships
  • Communication
  • Operational Management
  • Project Management
  • Awareness of Self
  • Management of Self
  • Decision Making

 

Assessment and Requalification

The assessment approach will ensure that apprentices meet the skills, knowledge and behaviour outcomes as defined in the Standard.

You will conduct on-programme assessment of the above knowledge, skills and behaviour outcomes towards the final synoptic assessment. This will comprise of:

  • Learner completion and achievement of a CMI Level 3 Diploma in Principles of Management and Leadership
  • 360-degree feedback
  • Development of a portfolio of evidence
  • Regular performance reviews between Encompass, the apprentice, and the line manager

 

The synoptic end point assessment will test the entire standard, and be undertaken as follows:

  • Assessment of knowledge through a test using scenarios, questions and responses
  • Assessment of competency through a structured competency-based interview
  • Assessment of portfolio of evidence
  • Continuing professional development log reviewed and professional discussion/question and answer session

 

Qualification

Upon successful completion of all the above Learners will be issued with a CMI Level 3 Diploma in Principles of Management and Leadership and Level 3 Team Leader / Supervisor Apprenticeship Standard. If applicable learners will also gain Functional Skills Level 2 in maths and English.

Apprentices may also choose to register as Associate members with the Chartered Management Institute and/or the Institute of Leadership & Management, to support their professional career development and progression.
