She crafts these stories through exhibitions that feature her imaginary realism compositions\, material culture\, and historical film & media she’s researched in archives and then curated into the shows and collaborative\, community-engagement projects. \nIn 2021\, the US-Fulbright Commission awarded Vanderpool a Fulbright Artist Fellowship to explore relationships between the Industrial Midwest region of the USA and the North of England. It originated in Japan in the 1980s due to a national health crisis and stress related illnesses. Scientific research established the benefit of forest bathing to reduce stress\, improve attention\, boost immunity and improve mood. These benefits are due to various factors in the forest which reduce stress:- \nPhytoncides (natural oils released by trees)\nFractal patterns in nature (repetitive branching patterns in trees etc)\nNegative ions in the air near moving water\nMicrobes in the forest soil boost the immune system.\nThe practice involves slowing down\, connecting with your senses and following invitations to deepen your connection with the forest\, allowing the natural world to promote healing and wellbeing. \nAccessibility \nThis event takes place in the Gardens at Wentworth Woodhouse. Guided by experienced leaders from Elite Adventures\, you’ll trek through the early hours via the Rhyd Ddu path\, covering around 7.5 miles over 6–8 hours. It’s a tough but rewarding challenge and every step you take will help raise vital funds to support Shiloh’s work with people experiencing homelessness. This is your chance to complete an incredible personal challenge while supporting Rotherham’s homeless community at one of the toughest times in their lives. \nHere’s how to register: \n1. Choose a funding/minimum fundraising option from the drop down list – choose which funding option you would prefer. \n3. Choose Shiloh Rotherham as your chosen charity from the drop-down list. \n4.
