DESCRIPTION:Member price – £300 + VAT\nNon-member price – £350 + VAT \nDuration – 3 Days \n  \nCourse Overview \nThis course is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification\, specifically designed for those who are appointed to act as a First Aider in their workplace. It is also ideal for people who have a specific responsibility to provide first aid in voluntary and community activities. \n  \nOver a 3 day period\, Learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of First Aid situations including:- \n\nThe Aims and Role of the First Aider\nMinimising infections\nRecording accidents & incidents\nPrimary and Secondary Surveys\nUnconsciousness Casualty including Recovery Position\nAdult CPR & AED\nChoking\nAnaphylaxis\, Poisons\, Asthma and Chest Trauma\nHeart Attacks and Stroke Patients\nWound Management and Bleeding\nBurns and Scalds\nSprains\, Strains\, and Fractures\nDiabetic Emergencies and Seizures\n\n  \n  \nAssessment & Qualification  \nAssessment is by a series of practical assessments throughout the duration of the course followed by multiple choice examinations at the end of the first day and the third day. Please note that photographic ID is required in order to sit the exams. \nSuccessful delegates will receive a certificate\, valid for three years. Before the expiry of this certificate\, students who wish to remain First Aiders must take a shorter First Aid Requalification course\, which will re-authorise them for a further three years.
