DESCRIPTION:Member price – £315.00 +VAT\nNon-member price – £330.00 + VAT\nDuration – 1 Day \nCourse Overview \n  \nOur City & Guilds Accredited one-day Fire Damper Testing Training Course is aimed at staff that wish to carry out fire and smoke damper testing and inspection\, but who require the knowledge and skills to do so safely and competently.  Our Fire Damper Training Course will also give you the appropriate knowledge of statutory Regulations that is relating to the maintenance of ventilation systems. \n  \nOur fire and smoke damper testing course is delivered in our fully-equipped Practical Training Centre in South Yorkshire\, which includes replica environments of real-life fire damper testing situations i.e. gaining access through false ceilings\, working at height\, complicated ductwork\, etc. \n  \nAt the end of the Fire Damper Certification Course\, through a combination of practical and classroom learning sessions\, candidates will: \n\nHave appropriate knowledge of statutory Regulations relating to the maintenance of ventilation systems and safe working practices\nHave appropriate knowledge of industry standards\, guidance & specifications in relation to ventilation system fire safety system\nUnderstand the principles of Fire damper & Smoke damper devices and associated fire compartment barrier requirements\nIdentify the potential fire safety hazards and adverse system performance in relation to ductwork cleanliness\nUnderstand and be able to carry out site planning and preparation for inspection testing and maintenance of fire and smoke dampers\nUnderstand and be able to carry out the inspection\, regular testing\, and maintenance of smoke/fire containment systems and associated components\nUnderstand how to problem solve in the event of a fire

You will be required to work independently\, conduct relevant research and demonstrate the ability to apply critical thinking and analysis. The presentation delivered on session 4 will summarise individual learning from the programme and therefore contribute to the overall assessment process. \n  \nCompleted assessment papers should be emailed in for marking. You will then receive your overall mark achieved and developmental feedback. Any assessments not meeting the minimum pass mark will be referred to the candidate to be improved in the highlighted areas. \n  \nThe assessment process will be covered in full during the induction in session 1. Upon successful completion of both assessments\, delegates will achieve a nationally recognised qualification.
