DESCRIPTION:Member price – £165.00 + VAT\nNon-member price – £185.00 +VAT \nDuration – 2 Day’s \n  \nCourse Information:\n \nThe course provides an update to the delegates’ previous learning and the student will thus be expected to demonstrate a considerable degree of previous knowledge and be prepared to make a basic contribution throughout the course. \n  \nWho Should Attend the Two Day First Aid Course? \nThe 2 day refresher course is designed for students who currently hold a First Aid certificate which is due to expire. The HSE Guideline state that 3-day First Aid at Work Certificate MUST be renewed every 3 years. \n  \nBenefits From Attending \n\nBe able to act safely\, promptly and effectively during emergencies at work\nFeel confident in administering First Aid in an emergency situation\nUse First Aid equipment\nUnderstand employer duties and legislation\nMaintain first aid records\n\n  \nCourse Contents  \n\nRoles and responsibilities of a first aider\nAction in an emergency\nTreating an unconscious casualty\nInjuries to bone and muscles\nBurns and scalds\nPoisoning\nRecognising both major and minor injuries and illness\nManaging the stabilising of casualties\nAction to take in an emergency\nDealing and treating an unconscious casualty or a casualty is bleeding or wounded\nPracticing cardi pulmonary resuscitation (CPR)\nPrioritising casualties in a situation\nDealing with injuries to bones and muscles\nControl external bleeding\nAnticipating and dealing with shock in differing situations\nConsidering the ways poisons can be taken into the body and how to deal with them\nDealing with choking\nAutomated External Defibrillation (AED)\nStabilising and managing the transport of casualties\n\n  \nPlease note that photographic ID is required in order to sit the exams. Successful delegates will receive a HSE certificate\, valid for a further three years. \nDelegates are required to produce a copy of their existing certificate before the start of the course to ensure they are eligible to attend the requalification course.
