SUMMARY:Mental Health First Aid (Online) – 21–22 July 2025
DESCRIPTION:9:00 AM – 5:00 PM | Live\, Interactive Training | Certified by MHFA England\n“If they’d collapsed in front of me\, I’d have known what to do…”\nWe all know what to do in a physical emergency.\nIf someone faints at work\, there’s a first aider. A plan.\nIf someone breaks their arm\, we act—immediately. \nBut mental health? \nWhen a colleague withdraws…\nWhen someone says\, “I can’t do this anymore”…\nWhen something feels wrong—but you can’t see it? \nThat’s when most people freeze—not because they don’t care\, but because they don’t feel confident. \nThe Crisis Beneath the Headlines\nAccording to the latest Joint Chambers of Commerce Business Survey\, business confidence in South Yorkshire has dropped dramatically following the Autumn Budget. The headlines focus on what’s visible: rising inflation\, and corporate tax pressures—both very real and very measurable. \nBut here’s what’s missing: mental health. Burnout. Emotional exhaustion. \nNot a word about staff wellbeing.\nNo mention of absenteeism due to stress.\nNo spotlight on the rising tide of presenteeism\, disengagement\, and emotional detachment. \nThese aren’t oversights. They’re omissions. \nWhy? Because you can’t always track them on a spreadsheet—at least\, not until performance plummets\, morale disappears\, or retention becomes a crisis. \nWe don’t talk about wellbeing until it becomes a business problem.\nBut by then? It’s already costing you. \nThis Course Fills the Gap—and Builds the Confidence\nLed by Mike Lawrence\, MHFA England Instructor and Chair of the Chamber Health & Wellbeing Forum\, this 2-day course gives your people leaders the tools to: \n✅ Recognise the signs of stress\, burnout and mental health conditions early\n✅ Respond with empathy\, structure\, and confidence—not guesswork\n✅ Signpost support and hold safe\, meaningful conversations\n✅ Earn a nationally recognised Mental Health First Aid certificate \n“Thank you Mike! And thank you to everyone on the course for being so open and supportive throughout. Great to meet so many new people.” \n“Thank you Mike\, learnt a lot. Really appreciate all your time\, energy and passion for this!” \n“Great information—feel like I’ve learned a lot!” \n📅 Course Details\nDates: Monday 21 – Tuesday 22 July 2025\nTime: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM\nLocation: Online\, fully interactive\nIncludes: MHFA England manual\, digital workbook\, certification \n💷 The ROI of Taking Action\nA report from Dell Technologies and MHFA England found that every £1 spent on mental health training delivers £5.30 in return—via reduced absenteeism\, increased productivity\, and improved team dynamics. \nIgnore mental health\, and you pay for it later.\nInvest in it now\, and your business thrives—resilient\, responsive\, ready. \n🌍 South Yorkshire SMEs: You Could Get Funding\nThanks to the South Yorkshire Combined Mayoral Authority (SYMCA)\, SMEs across the region may be eligible for funding to support this training. If you’re unsure whether your organisation qualifies\, I’ll help you navigate it. \nFinal Word: Would You Know What to Do?\nIf a team member collapsed in front of you\, you’d know how to help.\nSo why wait until someone’s quietly breaking down to realise your business isn’t prepared? \nMental Health First Aid isn’t an optional extra. It’s a critical skill. \n📞 Call now: 01142 670 081\n📩 Email: hello@mikelawrence.co.uk\n🌐 Website: www.mikelawrence.co.uk \nP.S.\nYou trained because you care. But caring without confidence leaves people unsupported.\nDon’t let someone fall through the cracks because you didn’t refresh your skills. \n👇 Know someone in HR or leadership? Tag them.👇

SUMMARY:South Yorkshire Quarterly Economy Survey Results Webinar Q2: Business Growth
DESCRIPTION:These webinars are an opportunity for key stakeholders to be briefed on the latest Quarterly Economic Survey results and to discuss what their implications are. \nThis quarter’s survey focused on two key themes: business growth and international trade. The findings paint a mixed picture. While many businesses remain optimistic and focused on increasing sales\, their ambitions are tempered by ongoing geopolitical uncertainty and systemic trade barriers. \nThis webinar will explore the findings as well as hearing from experts. \nAbout The South Yorkshire Quarterly Economic Surveys \nEvery three months\, the South Yorkshire Chambers — those being the respective networks for Doncaster\, Sheffield and Barnsley & Rotherham — conduct a major survey gauging how their members feel about current business conditions\, as well as the broader state of the economy. \nIn addition to providing a snapshot of these more general sentiments\, the questionnaires will always take a deep dive into a specific issue that’s of particular relevance to the business community; whether that’s recruitment\, transport infrastructure\, the cost of living\, or the implications of AI. \nThe results from this will then go on to inform the various advocacy & campaigning activities of the SY Chambers\, as they strive to better represent their members. They will also being used to influence the decision-making of those with the power to enact meaningful change in our region. \nThe polls conducted in South Yorkshire also go on to feed into the nationwide Quarterly Economic Survey (QES)\, which is itself the largest and most representative independent business survey of its kind in the UK. For this reason\, it is closely watched by policymakers such as the Treasury\, the Bank of England\, the Office of Budget Responsibility\, the EU Commission and the IMF. \nAbout The Stakeholder Webinars \nIt is an opportunity for stakeholders — from the local authority\, public sector\, political arena or elsewhere — to better understand the plight of their respective business communities\, and to learn more about what firms on the ground think ought to be prioritised here in South Yorkshire. \nThose who attend will be briefed on the survey results\, will have an opportunity to ask questions\, and will get to participate in a discussion about how to make the region a more business-friendly environment.
