SUMMARY:ScaleUp 360: Food and Beverage supply chain challenges and solutions
DESCRIPTION:As we start to emerge from the Covid-19 lockdown\, businesses need to move beyond their short-term reactions to the pandemic and focus on their operational viability for the medium and long-term future. In these uncertain times the challenge of considering how best to meet customer expectations whilst ensuring safety and compliance\, controlling increasing costs and trying to make a profit has never harder. \nEffective supply chain management may by one of the keys to survival and competitive advantage for food and beverage businesses. Understanding the existing challenges to supply chains brought about by the coronavirus outbreak\, as well as the potential future strains\, will be critical in order for operators to develop resilient strategies moving forwards. \nWe start by exploring the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on food and drink supply chains\, considering the challenges faced by suppliers\, logistics and distribution; as well as the impact of price disruptions and uncertain customer demand. The focus then shifts to exploring how businesses can be more flexible and pro-active in order to accommodate changes brought about by the pandemic\, and to build more resilient supply chains. \nThe spotlight then moves to a conversation with John Wood\, the internationally renowned Michelin starred chef\, F&B consultant and founder of the restaurant supply chain software business – Kitchen CUT. With over 30 years’ experience in world renowned kitchens\, as well as his direct involvement with supply chain solutions and clients in over 40 countries\, John will share his own personal views and observations on how food and beverage supply chains have been impacted in recent months\, as well as his insight on possible ways forwards. Attendees will be invited to put questions forward in a final Q&A and broader discussion. \nWhat will I learn? \n – The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on food and beverage supply chains\, regarding suppliers\, logistics\, pricing and demand\n–  The main considerations for developing flexible and resilient supply chains\n–  The importance of evaluating product/menu complexity\n–  The benefits of technology in the supply chain \nWho should attend? \nAny entrepreneur\, director\, or manager working in the food and beverage service sector\, chen CUT \nLink to book: www.scaleup360.co.uk/register

SUMMARY:ScaleUp 360: ‘Hospitality revenue management for the Covid-19 recovery
DESCRIPTION:To take part in this online streamed seminar\, you must be based in the Sheffield City Region and enrol onto the ScaleUp 360 FREE Business Support Programme first. Please use the link below to register. \nThe session will start by examining the unique revenue management challenges that Covid-19 presents for the hospitality sector with a specific focus on the difficulties of achieving optimal pricing strategies where we have limited forecasting data\, social distancing restrictions and uncertain customer demand. \nThe focus will then shift to considering the revenue lessons we can learn from previous sudden and drastic falls in demand\, such as the reactions of the industry to 9/11\, SARS and the 2008 economic crash – what would we do again\, what would we do differently and how does this situation differ? \nWe’ll end by proposing a range of revenue strategies that you could consider for your business to help optimise demand during the recovery period. There will also be plenty of opportunity to ask questions and exchange ideas. \nLink to book: www.scaleup360.co.uk/register

SUMMARY:Amazon Tours in Partnership with British Chamber of Commerce
DESCRIPTION:The Accredited Chamber of Commerce Network in partnership with Amazon is delivering a series of fulfilment centre tours to help businesses reopen and restart the economy. Amazon\, who has been operational throughout the COVID –19 lockdown\, is opening the doors to ten of their fulfilment centres across the country\, to assist Chamber members with implementing government guidance to restart their operations. \nThe South Yorkshire Chambers are offering the opportunity for members of any Chamber to tour Amazon’s Doncaster fulfilment centre at the iPort. These tours will enable members to see first-hand how the e-commerce business has implemented a range of measures to keep its employees safe while continuing to serve its customers. \nMembers will be able to see how Amazon has responded to the pandemic and apply any learnings to their own action plans for reopening their workplaces. With guidance from the World Health Organisation (WHO)\, they have implemented a series of preventative health measures at their sites to help keep employees\, partners\, and customers safe. Amazon has made more than 150 significant process changes to ensure the health and safety of its team members. \nAdvice for guests \n• It is important that if you are experiencing any symptoms or been in contact with an individual with symptoms or diagnosed with COVID-19 that you do not attend the tour.\n• All guests visiting the fulfilment centre will go through a temperature check. If their temperature is too high\, they will be prevented from entering the centre.\n• Guests will be provided with a facemask or visor that must be worn at all times throughout the visit.\n• Please ensure you follow all social distancing guidelines and measures in place at the centre.\n• General parking is available free of charge at each fulfilment centre building. Depending on the site\, there may be designated guest parking. We recommend coming earlier to find parking. Please ensure you reverse park your car.\n• All guests must wear flat\, closed-toed\, and closed-heeled shoes (no sandals\, clogs or high heels). We recommend wearing comfortable shoes or trainers. Additionally\, long hair must be pulled up to or above shoulder length. Loose-fitting clothing (long-hanging jewellery\, scarves\, or ties) is not permitted.\n• You may bring your wallet\, keys\, mobile phone\, and transparent water bottle on the tour. If you have other personal bags or items\, we will ask you to leave them in your car. Medical devices are exceptions to this rule and may be carried for the duration of the visit as needed. Pets or animals are not permitted unless they are service animals.\n• Photography or videography is not permitted on the tour.\n• It is very important you arrive on time. If you are late\, it is unlikely we will be able to accommodate you.
