Magna Science Adventure Centre is thrilled to announce Eagle Platforms as their new Corporate Sponsor. The Anston based company is a leading national supplier of access platforms.

Opened in 2001 Magna is a totally self-funded charity with a mission to educate future generations about our local steel heritage through science and engineering. All proceeds raised through the visitor attraction and events such as Magna Mayhem, Oktoberfest and EAT BUMP GROOVE Christmas Party Nights as well as the hire of their award-winning conference and event space, all fund the daily running of the Science Adventure Centre.

The alliance between the two organisations is part of Magna’s ongoing relationship with the South Yorkshire community. Kevin Tomlinson Magna Managing Director said, “We are delighted to welcome Eagle Platforms to Magna. Their financial assistance will help us to continue to provide fun hands-on education to future generation scientists and engineers. As a self-funded charity we are always looking for new ways to fundraise for our core services and keep the steelmaking story alive, so we thank Eagle Platform for their generous support”.

Employing 30 full time staff Eagle Platforms Ltd has a varied customer base from construction and refurbishment, to shopping malls, steel work and even television work including the BBC hit Open All Hours with Sir David Jason. Eagle Platforms, started by Chairman and CEO Jim Haigh in 1988, has become renowned in the industry for their excellent customer care and highest possible safety standards.

Jim Haigh said of becoming a Corporate Sponsor, “Magna plays a critical role in teaching science and engineering to young people in an innovative and creative way. Here at Eagle Platforms we are immensely proud of our South Yorkshire heritage and enthusiastically contribute to the local community through our partnership with Magna Science Adventure Centre”.

The first collaboration sees Eagle Platforms as headline sponsors of the forthcoming Soccer Saturday charity event on 22 June at Magna. The fundraising night will see football legends Paul Merson, Matt Le Tissier and Phil Thompson live on stage at Magna recreating their unique brand of inter-panel banter, hysterics and in-depth ex-player insight. The programme promises a full evening of sporting entertainment with on-stage interviews, Q&A and comedy with tickets on sale at www.visitmagna.co.uk/whats-on

Jim Haigh said of the night, “Magna certainly know how to host a brilliant night of entertainment, and with all proceeds going to fund the Science centre, all football fans should book their tickets now!”
