DESCRIPTION:Who is this course for? \nThis course is beneficial to for \n\nthose responsible for premises\, building owners or tenants.\nemployers who carry out building\, demolition\, maintenance or repair work.\nemployers who carry out work which is liable to expose employees to asbestos (alarm fitters\, computer installation etc).\nanyone who works in these types of trades.\n\nThe course has been designed to help employers meet their training requirements under regulation 10 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 which states that any employee liable to be exposed to asbestos must be given adequate information\, instruction and training to ensure they can safeguard themselves and other employees and carry out their work effectively. \nWhat does the course cover? \nThe course content includes the following topics: \n\nIntroduction to asbestos its history and chemistry.\nHealth risks from asbestos.\nAsbestos-related diseases.\nAsbestos and smoking.\nAsbestos containing materials overview\, friability\, uses and locations.\nLegal duties.\nUnexpected discovery of asbestos.\nAccidental release of asbestos and emergency procedures.\n\nHow is the course assessed? \nAt the end of the course\, there will be a multiple-choice assessment. \nHow long does the Asbestos Awareness certificate last? \nOn successful completion of this course\, you will receive an asbestos awareness certificate which is valid for three years. \nHow long does the training take? \nThe training course runs for approximately two hours. \nHow many people can I send on the course? \nThe course can have up to 15 students
