 The Industry recognised Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) is a requirement for site managers ensuring ACOPs in relation to the CDM regs 2015 are adhered to.

This course is ideal for those responsible for organising, monitoring and administering workforce, looking to strengthen and gain knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and aspects that affect safe working in the building, construction and civil engineering industries. By gaining the CITB SMSTS qualification, this shows you comply with the current laws and regulations, along with preparing you of your duties and responsibilities to maintain a safe site at all times.

Course Overview

 This course is to bring delegates up to date with current legislation and standards affecting the management and organisation of construction projects. This includes:

• Assist course delegates in examining the extent to which they meet their own safety, health and welfare responsibilities at work.
• Guide, assist and encourage delegates to develop their knowledge and skills beyond the existing course content.
• Provide examples and opportunities for course delegates to study and analyze safety, health and welfare practices and procedures.
• To draw as much as possible on material of common interest for the benefit of all course delegates.
• Encourage delegates to develop a positive and forward thinking attitude to safety, health and welfare.
• Emphasize and draw attention to the many examples where inefficiency and safety or health hazards are linked.
• Assist and encourage delegates to develop management techniques and methods for dealing with future safety, health and welfare matters.

All those exercising a management or supervisory function at site level within the organisation. This course of training will be of particular benefit to Contracts Managers, Site Managers and Supervisors

The SMSTS certificate is valid for 5 years, after this time delegates can take the SMSTS Refresher course to renew their SMSTS certification.
