Marketing Apprentice

We’re looking for a curious and motivated Marketing Apprentice to join our team in Rotherham and start their career in marketing.

This is a hands-on opportunity for someone looking to gain practical marketing experience in a busy and supportive team, while working towards a nationally recognised Level 3 Multi-Channel Marketer Apprenticeship with the option of studying towards three CIM (Chartered Institute of Marketing) Level 4 Awards in Professional & Digital Marketing.

You will be line managed by a CIM-qualified marketing professional who began their own career as an apprentice, giving you the benefit of guidance, practical support and mentoring from someone who understands the apprenticeship journey first-hand.

You’ll support marketing activity across social media, email, website content, design, video and events. The role includes creating and updating assets in Canva/Adobe, drafting and scheduling social posts, supporting member communications, updating website content, assisting with email newsletters, reporting on performance data and helping promote the Chamber’s services, flagship events and member activity.

You will also gain exposure to using a CRM system, analytics reporting and brand consistency, while learning how marketing activity supports member recruitment, retention, engagement and the Chamber’s wider strategic objectives.

This role would suit someone creative, organised, eager to learn and passionate about content creation, communications and marketing.

What you’ll learn

As part of the apprenticeship, you will develop knowledge, skills and behaviours aligned to the Multi-Channel Marketer Apprenticeship. You’ll work on active campaigns and live projects to support Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber’s members.

A key part of the marketing apprenticeship will include learning:

– How to plan and deliver marketing activity across multiple channels

– Content creation for social media, websites, email campaigns and promotional materials

– Design skills using Canva or Adobe and brand guideline application

– Website content updates and digital publishing processes

– Email marketing principles, newsletter creation and audience engagement

– Video editing, content production and photography

– How to interpret marketing data from social media and website analytics

– CRM data handling, GDPR awareness and maintaining accurate records

– Professional communication, stakeholder collaboration and campaign support

– How marketing activity contributes to member engagement, retention and acquisition

Training Information

You will complete the Level 3 Multi-Channel Marketer Apprenticeship over 15 months alongside your day-to-day role.

The apprenticeship training will be delivered weekly, in-person by Whyy? Change, a local award-winning training provider based in Rotherham, starting on 17^th September 2026.

If you already hold a qualification in marketing at level 3 or above, you may not be eligible for the apprenticeship.

The closing date for this role is Friday, 31^st July 2026.
