HCAT and Tykes Teaching Alliance are delighted to introduce Unit 5

HCAT and Tykes Teaching Alliance are delighted to introduce, Unit 5, a unique and purpose-driven learning environment within their not-for profit organisation!

HCAT, a successful multi-academy trust of schools across Barnsley and Tykes Teaching Alliance, a professional development provider for the region, have worked collaboratively for 10 years. Their partnership is driven by a moral purpose to ensure that young people fulfil their potential and have the best educational possibilities regardless of their background or ability.

Expanding on their current successes, they are now launching a new social enterprise providing professional learning spaces to widen their impact beyond children in education to supporting the work of public and voluntary sector organisations across the borough.

Unit 5 will provide an affordable and enjoyable environment to learn in. They want Barnsley’s workforce to feel invested in, respected and valued when engaging with their professional development.

To support the public and voluntary sector, Unit 5 offers a 25% discount to ensure these organisations can invest more into the content and facilitation of their professional learning therefore, enabling them to have a greater impact on the residents of Barnsley that they work with.

Unit 5 is situated within Cliffe Court Business Park just off Junction 37 of the M1 and a five-minute walk from Dodworth train station. The venue is also close by to several hotels if overnight accommodation is required.

They have five professional learning spaces which have capacity to host small meetings to larger conferences of up to 72 delegates. The spaces are accessible for all, and free parking is available onsite.

Each space is equipped with top-of-the-line, multi-platform technology and equipment including high-speed free guest Wi-Fi high-definition projectors, iPads, sound system and video conferencing. Complimentary resources needed to deliver training i.e. flip chart, white boards and fully stocked facilitator kits (pens, post-it notes, scissors etc) are also included. The on-site team are on hand to assist users with set up and any additional requirements ensuring a seamless, worry-free experience.

Delegates have access to a luxury coffee machine and a variety of hot refreshments to choose from. Water and sweets are supplied as standard. Each space has natural lighting and individual heating/aircon systems to ensure delegates’ comfort.

A range of locally sourced catering options are available to choose from to suit your event from their seasonal menu, ‘Reight Good Snap!’

Unit 5’s modern décor includes fun, subtle nods to Barnsley’s cultural heritage including the amazing wall mural from South Yorkshire artist, Adam Briscoe.

HCAT and Tykes Teaching Alliance are proud to offer these professional learning spaces where collaboration is not just encouraged but celebrated!
