Rental Expert Mahara Haque to Speak at Let’s Talk Property
Utility Source has confirmed that Mahara Haque, founder of My Landlord Cares, will join the speaker line-up at its upcoming Let’s Talk Property event on Tuesday, 24th March at Wath Cricket Club.
The free industry event, titled Let’s Talk Property: Utility Connections, Rising Costs and the Future of Property Development, brings together developers, landlords, investors and consultants to explore the growing pressures facing the property sector.
Haque will deliver a keynote session exploring what the Renters Rights Act 2025 means for landlords. Her talk will cover the key legislative changes, what landlords need to know to remain compliant, why ethical property management matters, how to better support tenants, and what practical steps to take when issues arise.
With utility connection costs rising and regulatory changes reshaping the rental market, the event aims to provide practical, experience-led insight to property professionals navigating an increasingly complex landscape.
Mahara Haque is a British property professional, ethical letting agent and landlord. She founded My Landlord Cares in Sheffield in 2020 after becoming frustrated with traditional high street letting practices. Her mission is to support tenants to settle and stay, while helping landlords manage their investments responsibly.
Alongside running her business, Haque is a property investor, a TEDx speaker on reforming landlord practice and has held roles in community development and housing governance, including board positions with housing associations. Her work combines commercial property experience with a strong focus on community support and ethical practice.
The event will also feature an industry update from Dean Pattison, owner of Utility Source, who will share insight from live projects into rising utility connection costs and development risk.
Dean Pattison said:
“We’re pleased to welcome Mahara to the Let’s Talk Property line-up. The property landscape is changing quickly, not just in utilities but in regulation and tenant expectations. Having someone who understands both the commercial and ethical dimensions of property management will add real value to the discussion.”
Let’s Talk Property takes place from 9.30am to 11am on Tuesday 24 March at Wath Cricket Club. The event is free to attend, with places available to property professionals across South Yorkshire and beyond.
