About

Here at HOPE we aim to offer just that; hope for families who have had a loved one killed in traumatic circumstances such as a road traffic collision, a fire or a drowning. We provide free and unlimited support to people bereaved in this way, offering a bespoke package to suit individual needs. We run a telephone support line, hold monthly peer support groups and deliver art and crafting activities. We can arrange home visits, offer walks in the park or at Wortley Hall and access PTSD counselling. Our specially trained therapy dog, Oliver, can bring comfort with a friendly hug and a stroke.

Additionally, as part of our preventative approach, we offer road safety awareness sessions for young people aged 13-18 years who are not in mainstream education.

As an employer you will be concerned about the wellbeing of your staff, including the impact that traumatic events may have on individual members of the team and the wider workforce. If members of staff  have suffered a sudden, traumatic bereavement specifically through a road traffic collision, fire or drowning, we are here to provide support and you can let your staff know about our services. Whether the person lost a loved one recently or some time ago, if they need support we can offer this at whatever stage. We move at each individual’s pace, whenever they are ready.

Together we can support people through their loss, help them to understand their emotions and remember their loved ones.
