Age UK Rotherham Appeals for 10k Corporate Challenge Team Entries

Age UK Rotherham is appealing to businesses in the region to enter a team in the Rotherham 10k race on Sunday 14 May to compete for The Age UK Rotherham Corporate cup.

The event, starting in Clifton Park, will see runners from around the region taking to the streets in what is expected to be one of the biggest organised runs in South Yorkshire.  The Corporate Cup Challenge is a great way for organisations to promote activity, encourage fitness and develop team spirit in their workplace, whilst also supporting a local charity. Teams of all sizes are welcome and if you enter a team of ten or more, we’ll give you one free place.

Seasoned runners and first timers are all welcome to join team Age UK Rotherham and by getting sponsored you can help us to support older people across the borough to liver later life, better.

There will be a vibrant group warm-up to get you ready to go, marshals and water will be available throughout the course and there will even be a physio service, provided by Pure Physio, at the end of the race.

For younger runners a 1 mile Fun Run on the paths in Clifton Park starts at 12.00 and all children participating will get a medal, kindly donated by Parkway Shopping Centre. Many schools in the area have already signed up as part of a Run a Mile school’s campaign and anyone who wants to join can enter individually or with their school.

Barbara Dinsdale, Age UK Rotherham Chief Executive, said: I’m thrilled that Age UK Rotherham is once again, the beneficiary charity of this wonderful community event taking place in the heart of Rotherham. We expect to bring people of all ages and abilities together to enjoy a happy and memorable fun-filled day.
