Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice to reopen all three Rotherham shops

Bluebell Wood is preparing to welcome customers back to its much-loved network of charity shops across Rotherham, with a phased reopening starting from the 24th August.

The first to open its doors will be the Rotherham shop on the 24th, followed by the Hellaby furniture store on the 28th August and the Dinnington shop on the 5th September.

The announcement comes after the charity reopened its Chapeltown shop on the 8th August to a fantastic reception from the local community.

Each shop will have several safety measure in place to help keep people safe, including plastic screens at the tills, a one-way system in some shops, limits of the numbers of customers at any one time and readily available hand sanitiser.

Terri Hanson, Head of Retail at Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to be reopening our shops across Rotherham and we’re busy making sure our customers will feel as safe as possible when they visit.

“So while visiting one of our shops might feel slightly different, I can assure you they will be as warm and welcoming as ever.

“There will be plenty of bargains up for grabs thanks to our generous supporters who’ve donated over 1,000 bags of previously-loved items since lockdown began to ease.

“Our charity shops are incredibly important in supporting Bluebell Wood’s life-changing work so please do come along and bag yourself a bargain.”

Donations will not be accepted at the shops initially – but the charity will gladly take items off supporter’s hands through their collection service, or at the donation station at the hospice itself.

Bluebell Wood’s hugely successful collection service, which launched in June, has seen the charity collect previously loved items from supporters’ homes across the region.

Each bag collected is worth an average of £15 to the charity, so every donation makes a real difference to local children and families in the time they have together. Everything you need to know about donating items can be found here https://www.bluebellwood.org/pickupmystuff

“We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone’s who’s kindly donated their previously-loved items, thanks to you our shelves will be stacked with wonderful items,” added Terri.

“We simply couldn’t do it without the amazing support of the local community and we’ll look forward to seeing you in one of our shops very soon.”

Bluebell Wood’s Rotherham shop, which also has a range of bridal, evening, prom and designer wear, can be found on Wellgate in the town centre. The charity’s Hellaby furniture shop is at Unit One, Denby Way which is just off junction 1 of the M18; and the Dinnington store is at 27 Laughton Road on the main shopping street.
