Bluebell Wood to reopen Wombwell charity shop

Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice’s much-loved Wombwell shop will be welcoming customers back from October 26th, the charity has announced.

The South Yorkshire children’s hospice, which supports families across Barnsley and beyond, has been carefully planning a phased reopening of its shops since lockdown began to ease.

The Wombwell shop follows the charity’s successful reopening of its Chapeltown, Rotherham, Dinnington and Hellaby stores.

Terri Hanson, Head of Retail at Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to be welcoming customers back to our Wombwell shop and we’re busy making sure our customers will feel as safe as possible when they visit.

“The safety of our customers, staff and volunteers is our top priority so while visiting our Wombwell shop might feel slightly different right now, I can assure everyone that it will be as warm and welcoming as ever.

“There will also be plenty of bargains up for grabs too thanks to our wonderful supporters who’ve donated over 1,000 bags of previously-loved items over the past few months.

“Our charity shops are incredibly important in supporting Bluebell Wood’s life-changing work so please do come along and bag yourself a bargain.”

The Wombwell High Street shop is also on the lookout for volunteers to join its friendly team. Anyone who wants to lend a hand and help raise much-needed funds to support local families going through the toughest of times can email [email protected] or call 01909 517 360.

“Our amazing volunteers are incredibly important in the running of our shops and we’d love to welcome some new faces to our team,” added Terri.

“If you’d like to learn new things, meet new people and help make a real difference, please do get in touch.”

The Wombwell shop won’t be able to accept donations initially, but those with eight or more bags of items to donate can arrange a collection from their home by calling 01909 498996. Alternatively, the charity’s Donation Station at the hospice itself is also open every day between 7am – 7pm.
