Voluntary Action Rotherham (VAR) provides advice and support services to voluntary and community sector (VCS) groups and organisations across Rotherham.
We campaign on behalf of the voluntary and community groups and ensure the sector has a strong voice, enabling it to influence decisions locally. We are passionate about the VCS and the difference it makes to local people their needs, their energy and their commitment drive us in what we do.
What we do
We provide a range of services, offering advice, help and support in the following areas:
Professional accountancy, payroll, HR and financial management
Economical and efficient Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checking service
Hire of modern office and meeting space
Funding support including bid writing, project development and assistance with long term plans
Training
Volunteering and volunteer opportunities
Networking and consortium working
Giving you a voice in local decision making, research, lobbying and the Compact
Information and publications for the VCS
