Chamber Celebrates Success of International Women’s Day 2024 Event

Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber of Commerce recently hosted its International Women’s Day event, using the 2024 theme #InspireInclusion, held at the historic Wentworth Woodhouse.

Sponsored by Rotherham-based manufacturer AESSEAL®, the event promised to be an afternoon of celebrating the achievements and contributions of women in business.

The event, which aimed to honour the global observance of International Women’s Day while promoting a sense of inclusion and empowerment within the South Yorkshire business community, surpassed all expectations.
Elle Smith, Event Coordinator at Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber of Commerce, reflected on the event’s success, stating, “The atmosphere at Wentworth Woodhouse was fantastic. From the moment attendees arrived, into the grand hall situated within Wentworth Woodhouse. The venue provided a perfect backdrop for a day filled with networking, and meaningful conversations around the achievements of Women.”

Throughout the day, attendees had the opportunity to hear from guest speakers, including Sarah McLoed, CEO of Wentworth Woodhouse Preservation Trust, and Hayley Koseoglu, owner of Crystal Clean Service Ltd and iekos. Their insights and experiences resonated deeply with the audience, leaving a lasting impact.

The panel discussion, led by Lisa Pogson Managing Director at Airmaster, provided valuable insights from industry leaders, including Sammy Gaunt, Rebecca Jones, and Jamie Noble, sparking engaging conversations and furthering the event’s mission of inspiring inclusion.

Moreover, the presence of the 2023 Barnsley and Rotherham Business Awards – Charity of the Year, FareShare Yorkshire, highlighted the importance of community engagement and addressing pressing issues such as hunger and food insecurity.
