Drive-in cinema returns to Gulliver’s Valley

Hits from the silver screen are set to be screened at Gulliver’s Valley in Rotherham this month, when a popular drive-in cinema returns to the site.

After the huge success of their sold-out Drive-In Cinema experiences last summer and at Christmas, Sheffield-based company The Village Screen are bringing their events back to Gulliver’s Valley from 14 – 25 April.

From retro classics such as Grease and Jurassic Park to children’s favourites including Toy Story, and cult favourites Romeo & Juliet, Kill Bill: Vol 1 and 10 Things I Hate About You, the line up offers something for everyone, offering a safe, covid-secure night out as society begins to reopen.

Films will be screened on a huge, 24ft inflatable screen and all cars will be given their own sanitised in-car speaker system to listen to the films.

Julie Dalton, managing director of Gulliver’s Theme Park Resorts, said: “We’re so excited to be seeing the pop-up drive-in cinema return to Gulliver’s Valley this month.

“The range of films on offer covers everything from cult classics to family favourites, meaning people of all ages can come along and enjoy the cinema here at the park.”

The Village Screen promises that these events will feel intimate and special, with the wooded grounds at Gulliver’s Valley providing the perfect setting for people to enjoy a memorable experience to enjoy with their bubble.

Food and drinks are available on the night, delivered to audience members’ cars, as well as live DJ entertainment at each event, too.

Tickets are priced at £38 per car, plus booking fee, and are on sale now via https://www.thevillagescreen.com/whats-on.

The Village Screen are keeping these events deliberately small and intimate to ensure everyone attending has a fantastic experience (including those seated in the back of the car).
