A webinar designed to provide realistic and cost effective guidance to members  to assist their businesses develop strategies to reduce carbon emissions.

It will cover:-

  • What is sustainability?
  • What are the current UK targets?
  • What do we need to do as a business community to reduce emissions and help achieve the targets?
  • How do I measure current emissions?
  • What steps can we take to reduce emissions?
  • Are these steps cost effective. Will I get a ROI?

Our Speakers include:-

Liam O’Flynn, Senior Associate in the Energy, Waste, and Sustainability team at Freeths LLP, focuses on renewables, clean tech, and sustainability solutions. He specialises in clean energy projects and sustainability, focussing on commercial, regulatory, and transactional work.

During this session, Liam will outline what sustainability means (including some jargon busting) and why it is important for your business.

John Buckley, Managing Director of Carbon Footprint Ltd. Carbon Footprint Ltd are committed to working with businesses to track and reduce carbon emissions ‘at source’ as much as possible and to compensate for unavoidable emissions – via carbon offsetting.

John will provide realistic and cost effective guidance on how to measure carbon emissions and how to reduce them at source.

Ava Jones – Business Assurance Officer at AESSEAL plc, Rotherham – A real life case study.

AESSEAL plc are a specialist in the design and manufacture of mechanical seals and support systems, and proudly boast that they have gone beyond Net Zero, therefore having a net beneficial impact on the environment in their UK operations.

Ava will outline the journey towards Net Zero, the global picture of Net Zero, and how AESSEAL plc have implemented a number of reduction projects in line with their Investment Policy to Prevent Global Warming.

 Introduction of the Betterworld.Solutions Campaign – Together as business leaders, we can make a difference.

Ava will also provide an introduction of the Betterworld.Solutions campaign, and how this can help guide your organization towards being more sustainable for the future of our planet.

The Betterworld.Solutions campaign has been launched to drive collective action to mitigate climate change across all industries. The aim is to encourage organisations to adopt, publish and operate an Investment Policy to Prevent Global Warming.

Betterworld.Solutions have developed a website providing examples of sustainable policies and best practices and real life case studies that can assist organisations in commitments and working towards Net Zero. Adopting a policy will provide you with free access Net Zero and Sustainability training.
