Friday 5 May 2017, 8am – 10am, The Source, Meadowhall

Each quarter, the Sheffield City Region Chambers are hosting flagship events with The Source and Sheffield University Management School to share the Quarterly Economic Survey results and what they mean for business.

This event, hosted by Sheffield Chamber, will offer insight into the regions business economy for quarter one. It follows a ‘we asked, you said and we did’ format and will highlight any issues of concern that have been raised by business and feedback on the general economy, skills, employment, international trade and hot topics affecting their business. Quarter one will also offer an overview and debate of the Governments Industrial Strategy.

More about the Governments Industrial Strategy

The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial strategy recently unveiled their green paper consultation for the upcoming industrial strategy. The strategy will include key objectives such as developing skills, upgrading infrastructure, supporting businesses to start and grow, improving procurement and driving growth across the whole country. Greg Clarke, the Minister for BEIS stated that ‘we start from a position of great strength’ and ‘this is a hugely important moment for the United Kingdom, a moment when we must prepare a new strategy to earn a prosperous living in the years ahead’.

The event is kindly hosted by Greg Wright, Deputy Business Editor of The Yorkshire Post. Event sponsored by The Source.
