Food donations to support students over the festive period

This year Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber Patron, Barnsley College, are on a mission to relieve the burdens faced by students in need during the Christmas period by setting them up with food parcels containing non-perishable items.

Last year, Barnsley College ran a similar project and made up bags that included products such as rice, tins of soup, pasta, noodles, cereal, cereal bars, tea, coffee, long-life milk, sweets, chocolate, biscuits, selection boxes, etc. They managed to support over 150 students with food parcels and provided an extra gift for their in-care/looked-after students (numbering around 30).

The College is also looking to source any gift bags or sustainable gift wrapping/ hamper baskets to place these thoughtful parcels.

Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber invites businesses to contribute and make a positive impact on the lives of these students. Your generosity can make this Christmas a little easier for those in need.

If you have items to donate, drop them off at the Visitors Reception at the Old Mill Lane Campus before the 8th of December, for the attention of Sasha Beswick. Let’s come together and make this season a time of giving.
