Good eggs sought for charity’s crafty Easter competition

Creative youngsters with a flair for fundraising are being sought by the Rotherham Hospital and Community Charity to create the ultimate Easter egg this half term.

What would your perfect Easter treat look and taste like? Would it be decorated with stars, stripes or rainbows and filled with ice cream and peanut butter? The charity has hatched a plan to raise funds this Easter by encouraging youngsters to create the most imaginative and delicious Spring-time treat.

Participants simply need to donate £2 via Visufund to take part in the charity’s Eggcellent Easter Egg Competition – https://visufund.com/our-eggcellent-easter.

The charity team will then send entrants a design template to complete. Alternatively, entrants can decorate a real hard-boiled egg. Designers can use anything they like to bring their egg to life from paints, crayons or collage materials – anything goes and the wackier the better!

Martin Havenhand, Chairman of the Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust, said: “We love Easter eggs at the Rotherham Hospital and Community Charity so we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate the Spring-time holiday than by encouraging children and young people to put their imaginations to the test to create their ultimate egg.

“The competition costs just £2 to enter and all the money raised will help the charity to continue to fund the extra special, added extras which the NHS would ordinarily not be able to fund and which make a real difference to our patients. We hope youngsters of all ages have fun taking part.”

Easter egg designs should be posted to the Rotherham Hospital and Community Charity, Rotherham Hospital, Moorgate Road, Rotherham, S60 2UD or emailed to [email protected]. If you have decorated a real egg, simply email or post us a photograph. The winner will be announced on Friday 9 April 2021.
