Help us name our newborn llama!

Like all new parents, our new baby boy llama’s mum and dad are struggling to find a name for their baby. Can you help?

Since his birth at Wigfield Farm on Thursday 29 September, he has been settling in and exploring his new Yorkshire home, with his mum Delilah, sister Darcy and niece Dot. However, we still need to name him and we need your help!

We are asking for ideas for names beginning with a ‘D’ which are suitable for our new male llama.

To enter, email [email protected] or message us on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter and tell us your chosen name and why you have picked it, we’d love to know! One of the names will be chosen from all of the entries submitted by the team at Wigfield Farm. The closing date for entry is 5.00pm on Monday 31 October 2022.

Peter Wood, Head of Department for Animal Management, said: “We’re excited to celebrate the arrival of the new boy llama, and can’t wait to watch him grow from a cria to being a father himself. I’m looking forward to reading all the name suggestions and encourage everyone to come and visit the llamas and the other animals we have at the farm.”

Wigfield Farm has over 60 different species of animals including meerkats, horses and pigs. Entry is £2 per person and free for children under two. The farm is open every day except over the Christmas break, from 10.30am to 3.00pm, with free parking on site.
