Launch of new courses for adults starting January 2022

Northern College has launched new courses designed for anyone aged 19 and over returning to education to make a change, starting January 2022.  The college is taking applications throughout January.

Learn with like-minded adults in the beautiful, tranquil settings of Northern College, South Yorkshire, surrounded by National Trust gardens and parkland.

Students can also benefit from a discounted bus service costing £1 bringing you from Barnsley Interchange right into the campus, starting 10th January 2022. The college also offers free parking and is close to motorway networks.

Their courses can help you into a range of careers with introductory courses up to level 3 and beyond including:

  • Health Care
  • Counselling
  • Education
  • Business and Leadership
  • Social Sciences
  • Community Development.

 

The college also has courses in Functional and GCSE maths and English, Digital skills and Career Transition Days on offer to underpin progression into further study and employment.

You could join our many students who choose to study residentially on campus at Northern College to focus on their studies. This means they also benefit from enhanced wrap-around support, and time spent with like-minded peers and specialist tutors to progress their goals.

You can also opt to study one of our new blended learning courses. These give you the benefit of flexible online study with tutor support, alongside two residential weekends to connect with fellow students.

Can I study for free?

Most courses are fully funded for eligible adults aged 19 and over up to level 2, and financial support is available for courses from level 3 upwards. So, essentially, you may be able to study for free.
