Veronica Broomes, a Sustainability Expert and Entrepreneur, is the Founder of the Sustainability Support Service at Peak Homes Yorkshire (PHY Ltd), a Sheffield-based business and Member of Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber.

At PHY Ltd, Dr Broomes supports companies with bespoke Sustainability Training (online and offline), preparation of Carbon Reduction Plans and conducting cost-effective and expert-led Sustainability Audits. As an entrepreneur with direct experience of starting and growing businesses (training in leadership and management, environmental consultancy practice and serviced accommodation), Veronica takes a dynamic, resourceful and professional approach and is committed to lifelong learning. She has worked on initiatives funded by multinational agencies, central and local governments as well as business support agencies and private sector organisations in the UK and overseas. In addition, Veronica is a Business Growth Mentor through the UK Government’s Help to Grow Programme and was successful in winning a place on the six-month NatWest Accelerator programme.

Veronica’s academic qualifications includes a PhD in Plant Science from the University of Sheffield, post-graduate certificate in Environmental Impact Assessment from University of London’s Wye College (now Imperial College) and Masters of Law degree (LLM) from The Open University. Committed to continuous professional development, Dr Broomes is a member of the Institute of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability (ICRS) and an affiliate of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA).
