Popular Yorkshire Indian restaurant celebrates 12 months of success

A Yorkshire-based Indian restaurant has this week celebrated a remarkable twelve months of outstanding success, which tops off a fabulous recent time in which they also achieved a 5-star hygiene rating.

The new Goa Spice Indian Restaurant arrived in Thurcroft June 2021, and has been setting tastebuds alight ever since. Experienced entrepreneur brothers, Mamun and Masum Ali, whose Goa Spice franchise has restaurants established across South and West Yorkshire, have created a dining experience that has gone down well with locals.

The new business on the block may have only been open for 12 months, but their authentic Goan dishes have been as memorable as their name.

Head chef and master curry maker Korom Ali said, “It has been a great year in our new building, it could not have gone any better. We have had many complimentary reviews. I am very proud that my speciality Chicken Tikka Garlic Balti has become our most popular dish.”

General Manager Masum Ali said, “We are over the moon with the Thurcroft location. The whole community has welcomed us, everybody is very friendly. We would like to thank all of our customers who have supported us over the past twelve months by offering a discount of 25% against food orders on our special anniversary evening of 28^th June. We hope customers new and old will join us to celebrate the occasion.”

Mamun said, “It’s been an extremely exciting year in a great new location. Our authentic Goan cuisine has been well received and has surely spiced things up in Thurcroft.”

Purchased by local Entrepreneur and CEO of Gala Tent, Jason Mace, in 2013, the Double Barrel has long served the area as a steakhouse bar and restaurant. However, in the wake of the global pandemic, the former management team allowed the once-great establishment to fade, and its doors closed permanently in February 2021.

The Double Barrel was built in 1971 and since then has been a well patronised venue and large part of the community. The Goa Indian restaurant and takeaway has proved to be a welcomed addition to the area.
