Sign up for National Elf Service Week!

The Rotherham Hospital and Community Charity is challenging fundraisers to celebrate the festive season in style by taking part in its first ever National Elf Service Week.

Whether you are at home, school or work between 12 and 18 December 2022, the charity is encouraging elves young and old to swap their school uniforms, work suits or stay-at-home joggers for their glitziest jumpers, reindeer antlers, funky socks or seasonal fancy dress – anything goes!

National Elf Service Week fundraising will help to boost the charity’s Christmas 2022 campaign, which will once again raise money to fund the redevelopment of the Children’s Ward outdoor play area at Rotherham Hospital.

Rachael Dawes, Head of Fundraising, said: “Last year, colleagues at The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust, schools, community groups and individuals pooled their festive cheer to kick-start fundraising for the play area, raising a magnificent £6,500 by taking part in our Virtual Santa Jog and Christmas Jumper Day.

“We know that visiting or staying in hospital can be a worrying time for children, young people and their families so an outdoor space providing respite from the busy ward area still very much needed

“We have ambitious plans for the rooftop space and hope to make it a special place for children and young people for generations to come. More than £30,000 is needed to revamp the play area, so every penny raised during National Elf Service Week really will count.

“We hope that everyone has a great time taking part, celebrating their inner elf!”

It costs just £2 to take part and donations can be made quickly and easily via Visufund – https://visufund.com/rotherham-national-elf-service-week
