South Yorkshire Transport Museum, Rotherham S65.

One of Rotherham’s ‘hidden gems’ and now fully operational again post COVID.  For enthusiasts and explorers of all ages; this ‘Chamber’ member charity – entirely run by volunteers – combines heritage, history and an enjoyable time, all under one roof.  From ‘chopper’ bikes, through motor scooters, to carriages, cars, carts, lorries, milk floats and of course buses, plus model trains, model ships and a café.

‘Open days’ usually include visits by other groups with historic vehicles and free bus trips tofrom the Town Centre and tofrom Conisborough.

Some of the historic buses can be hired for weddings and other daytime events.

New members – especially those who want to be involved in running the Museum – are welcomed and particularly those with PCVs, plus experience of older vehicles, are needed post COVID.
