It is the priority of Olivers Legal Services to understand your concerns and thereby offer practical information about available options to use and protect your assets from the above threat.

Following the current recommendation from the Government for people to practice social distancing to decrease the risk of getting the virus infection, we would like to update you on the measures Oliver’s Legal Services have put in place for clients who wish to put in place relevant documents in respect of their estates.

For your peace of mind, if you put in place a Will, you will be able to do the following:

  1. Choose who you want to be your children’s guardians (if your children are below 18 Years old), without the Court of Protection stepping in and costing large amounts in court fees.
  2. Choose who will be your named Executor and Trustee
  3. Donate money or property to family, friends and/or to a chosen charity or organisation in your Will.
  4. Identify a named person you want your estate to go to and not the Crown, as the estate may go to someone that you did not want to benefit from your estate

  1. Manage your bank account
  2. Make or sell investments
  3. Pay your bills

Health and Welfare Lasting Power of Attorney documents can only be used if you do not have the capacity to manage your own affairs. They can be used to do the following:

  1. They can be used to chose the type of health care and medical treatment they would like you to receive including life – treatments.

  3. Decide on day-to-day matters such as your diet and daily routines.
