Following the success of last year’s event and for the second year running, the South Yorkshire Skills Expo is back, and you are invited to join us!

Last year, we welcomed over one hundred and fifty local businesses, colleges and training providers to our exclusive celebratory skills event, which has been designed to connect people, skills and businesses across the region. This year, we’re expecting an even bigger turnout.

Read on to discover more about the South Yorkshire Skills Expo, including what it is, when it’s taking place, who our guest speakers are, and how to join us for this unmissable event.

What is the South Yorkshire Skills Expo?

The South Yorkshire Skills Expo is an event that connects people, skills and businesses. This year we are highlighting how employers can get access to skills with less bureaucracy than ever before.  It will also highlight how businesses can be more productive through digital skills.

If you are interested in how to harness technology skills this is the event for you.

The best part is that it’s a completely FREE event. The South Yorkshire Skills Expo is funded by the Local Skills Investment Fund (LSIF), which is allocated by the Department for Education. This funding is being strategically implemented across the region with a specific focus on improving skills and boosting productivity within South Yorkshire.

The three Chambers of Commerce for South Yorkshire (Barnsley & Rotherham, Sheffield and Doncaster) are proud to be in partnership with the South Yorkshire Skills Expo as part of their dedication to leading the development of the Local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIP).

During the event, attendees will get the chance to:

  • Learn about the region’s skills system and future opportunities from our guest speakers
  • Talk to and meet local skills providers
  • Listen to and take part in panel discussions and practical showcases
  • Network with like-minded local business owners, colleges and training providers

The colleges and training providers in attendance at the 2024 South Yorkshire Skills Expo include Barnsley College, DN College Group (Doncaster), RNN Group (Rotherham), The AMRC Training Centre, Northern College, Sheffield College, Sheffield Hallam University, Specialist Communication College Doncaster and South Yorkshire Providers Network.
